Weekly Update 10/6/2023
October 6th, 2023
Pinkerton Family and Friends,
The initial rush of the start of the school year has passed, and we have started to fall into the rhythm of the school year. It’s hard to believe it’s already October, but the leaves have started to change in a few spots on campus, and progress reports will come out in just over a month. At the end of the month, the Pinkerton Players will perform Antigone in Munich, and several of our fall sports teams will start gearing for playoffs. Before you know it, our Performing Arts department will be performing holiday concerts!
There are so many great things happening at Pinkerton that it’s oftentimes difficult to name them all in one email. I hope throughout the year to highlight as many as I possibly can. If you know of someone or something that I should highlight or give a shout out to, please email me and let me know!
Have a great long weekend!
Weekly Highlights:
Start Time Surveys - Yesterday you received an email from Dr. Powers with a survey about adjusting our school start time. Please complete the survey, and, if you’re willing, opt your student(s) in to participate as well. Students cannot complete the survey unless a parent/guardian has granted permission. Thank you in advance for participating!
Faculty / Staff Contact Response Time - When students, parents, or guardians reach out to teachers, kindly note that it is normal procedure for teachers to respond within a 24-hour business day timeframe. Thank you for your understanding in this regard.
Medical Annual History Form - Guardians, if you want your student to be able to have access to Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cough drops, or antacids during the school day, the annual Health History form must be completed each year! Access it here or in the Parent section of the website.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Please review the Drop-off and Pick-up map: Student Drop Off and Pick Up. In particular, families entering by the Academy Building for drop off and pick up must travel through the indicated route and exit the opposite side of campus. This is for the safety of all our students, so please follow the directions of staff on campus.
Planner Acknowledgment/Consent to Treat - Please review the email I sent last Wednesday, September 6th. Separate emails were sent to students and parents/guardians. Students only need to complete the Google form sent to them acknowledging the handbook. One parent/guardian must complete the acknowledgment/consent to treat form, and it will cover all students in their legal care. The Student Handbook and the links to the forms can be found on our website.
