Overview of Pinkerton's leadership society
Established in 2022, the Leadership Society recognizes Pinkerton’s most loyal and generous donors each year. This incredible support enables Pinkerton to continue its mission of providing extraordinary opportunities for our students while transforming them into the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.

legacy leadership gift levels
Recognizes the generosity of donors with legacy gifts and commitments, significant philanthropy, or ten years or more of giving.
John Morrison Pinkerton Society
Pinkerton’s Legacy Society recognizes and honors individuals who have remembered Pinkerton
Academy in their estate plans through a bequest intention, life income arrangement, retirement designation, or life insurance provision.
Named in honor of John Morrison Pinkerton — a dedicated graduate and trustee of Pinkerton Academy for 31 years — who generously bequeathed his entire estate, totaling $202,191, to the Academy.
Olive M. Abbott Society
Pinkerton’s lifetime giving society recognizes individuals who have made gifts of $50,000 or more to Pinkerton in their lifetime.
Named in honor of former faculty member Olive M. Abbott. Abbott led a lifetime of leadership in service to Pinkerton including her time as a teacher, advisor of yearbook and drama productions, librarian, active honorary alumna, Alumni Historian and School Historian. She dedicated over fifty years of service to the Academy.
Red and White Circle
Pinkerton’s loyalty society recognizes individuals who have 10+ years of consecutive giving.
Annual Leadership Gift Levels
Recognizes the generosity of our donors in a given year.
1814 Circle
$1,814 - $4,999
Named for Pinkerton’s founding year, and entry level to the annual leadership gift society.
Malcolm Mackenzie Circle
$5,000 - $9,999
Named for former Pinkerton trustee, Malcolm Mackenzie, who was referred to as “a friend to
everybody” and “Derry’s leading citizen”. In his will, Mackenzie left his property to Pinkerton.
Robert L. Frost Circle
$10,000 - $24,999
Named for former Pinkerton faculty member and Pulitzer Prize winning poet, Robert L. Frost. The time Frost spent at Pinkerton and in Derry is viewed as a formative period of his life where he developed a valuable sense of self-confidence which helped transform him into one of the world’s most famous poets.
Shepard Family Circle
$25,000 – above
Named for the Shepard Family, in honor of the four generations of the Shepard’s and their contributions to the community. Each generation of Shepard was active in the civic life of Derry and the State of NH.
