Weekly Update 5/23/25

May 23rd, 2025 by Mike Perez

Good afternoon, Pinkerton Community,

As we head into the upcoming three-day weekend, please remember that Monday, May 26th, is Memorial Day, and there will be no school in observance of this important holiday. This weekend offers an opportunity to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I encourage everyone in our Pinkerton Academy community to reflect on the meaning of this day.

Beyond the long weekend, our focus quickly shifts to closing out another successful academic year. For all students, this means finishing strong! Please continue to focus on your studies, prepare for final assessments, and make sure all assignments are completed. Our faculty and staff remain committed to supporting you through these final weeks, so please reach out if you need help. Don’t wait until it’s too late to turn things around; we want you to succeed!

Weekly Shout Outs

SHOUT OUTS TO…

Brianne Puls for her work in organizing the Underclass Awards ceremony.

STUDENT SHOUT OUTS:

Gabby Strabone and Mollie Wheale - On May 15th, Pinkerton sent two teams to Alvirne High School to compete in the annual American Culinary Federation Professional Chefs of New Hampshire Cupcake Wars. Students had two hours to bake and decorate three different flavors of cupcakes and competed against 9 other teams from across Southern NH. Gabby and Mollie took first place in the contest as the group helped raise money for culinary arts and baking student scholarships. Congratulations!

Madison Bush - for showing incredible kindness and empathy by helping a friend organize their assignments into three categories—complete, partially complete, and incomplete—to support them on their path to graduation. Madison offered only encouragement, never criticism or judgment, creating a truly supportive and uplifting experience. Thanks, Madison!

Gabrielle Choinard & Tristan Elder have been accepted to the Longfellow Young Writers’ Camp at University of Maine Farmington in July. They are among only 60 students to be accepted into the program. Congratulations!

Nevaeh Smith has served as Chess Club President for the 2024-2025 school year and has done an incredible job. She organized the first Mack Plaque match against Londonderry and the annual Teachers vs. Students Tournament. Nevi also helped double the member count in one year! As President, she was responsible for playing against new members and making all players feel welcome. She'll be graduating in June and the club will miss her dearly!

Underclass Awards Winners: There were 93 students recognized this year. Congratulations to all of these students!

Respectfully,

Michael Perez
