Senior Scholarships
Applications now being accepted for Spring 2026!
DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2026
Each year, hundreds of annual and endowed scholarships are available to graduating Pinkerton students thanks to the incredible generosity of many donors and local organizations. Please read below for important dates and information for parents/guardians and seniors, and scholarship donors.
SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE:
2025-2026 APPLICATIONS WILL BE RELEASED IN JANUARY
February 1, 2026 - All scholarship applications are open for seniors to apply to.
April 1, 2026 - Deadline for all Pinkerton-selected scholarship and award applications.
June 11, 2026 - Scholarship recepients will be announced at Senior Awards Night.

Adams Female Academy Scholarship ($500)
The Adams Female Academy Scholarship is granted to a female resident of Adams Female Academy School District, who plans to further her education with post high school studies.
Applicants must live within the boundary shown on this map.

Alicia MacGregor Goodchild Class of 1954 Award ($1000)
In memory of Alicia MacGregor Goodchild Class of 1954, who was known for her kindness and compassion to her community and others in need. The award is given to a Pinkerton senior interested in pursuing a career in nursing or healthcare who is supportive, and respectful of their community and classmates, and is always willing to lend a hand.
Asama Lekbua Scholarship (Amount Varies)
Awarded to a first-generation and/or underrepresented minority student who plans to pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree
Astros United Scholarship ($1,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Pinkerton Academy who plans to pursue a college degree in a mental health-related field. The scholarship is sponsored by the Pinkerton Astros United Club. Students DO NOT have to be a member of the Astros United Club to be awarded this scholarship.
Baker Memorial Scholarship in memory of Daniel Baker '96 ($300)
Given by Mr. and Mrs. Bruce L. Baker in memory of their son Daniel B. Baker, Class of 1996, to assist Pinkerton Academy graduating seniors who will continue their education at a technical school or who has been accepted into an apprenticeship following graduation.
Barbara Dolloff Scholarship for Teaching and Human Services ($100)
This endowed scholarships is awarded to a senior from Chester who intends to pursue post-secondary education within 6 months of graduation in the field of: teaching, counseling, juvenile justice, nursing, or physical therapy. Recipient must be a graduate of Chester Academy.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Baroni Family DaVinci Award ($500)
Student of good character, high integrity, and community service minded, demonstrating leadership characteristics, creative problem solving, and having good standing with teachers and administration. In the upper 1/4th of his/ her class. Financial need is not to be considered criteria. Activities related to Pinkerton Academy studies, or community service involvement, especially during summer months.
Baroni Family DaVinci Visual/ Performing Arts Award ($500)
Will be awarded to a junior or senior from PA who has demonstrated a passion for self- expression, growth and creativity within the performing or visual arts. Preference will be given to a student who has plans to pursue higher education in the arts and ensuring career.
Brittany Flannigan Foundation Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Brittany Flannigan to a senior who plans to continue their education at Plymouth State University and demonstrates many of Brittany’s outstanding qualities of active involvement in extracurricular events and volunteer efforts to help others.
Chester Lions Club Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded by the Chester Lions Club to a graduating Chester resident.
Chester School Board Scholarship ($1,000)
This scholarship will be awarded each year by the Chester School Board to the member of that year's senior class who is an alum of Chester Academy and has the highest Pinkerton Academy grade point average.
The recipient of the Scholarship will receive One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each year that he or she is enrolled in an accredited college or university and is in good academic standing, up to a maximum duration of four years.
No Application required.
Christian Arrell Scholarship ($5,000)
In honor of Christian Arrell, whose passion for teamwork and problem-solving inspired all who knew him. The scholarship is open to students enrolled in the EDD class who are applying to college for a STEM-related degree.
Class of 2020 Scholarship ($500)
Awarded to a graduating senior who has a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA, demonstrated creativity and perseverance through challenges and recommendations from the senior class advisor(s).
Community Alliance for Teen Safety - Community Service Award ($500)
Community Alliance for Teen Safety (CATS) is a non-profit founded in 1996 after the deaths of teens in car crashes in Derry. CATS mission is: To promote safe habits for all youth by increasing awareness of high-risk behaviors, encouraging healthy choices and fostering community alliances.
Community Alliance for Teen Safety Award ($750)
Community Alliance for Teen Safety (CATS) is a non-profit founded in 1996 after the deaths of teens in car crashes in Derry. CATS mission is: To promote safe habits for all youth by increasing awareness of high-risk behaviors, encouraging healthy choices and fostering community alliances.
Derry Education Association ($350)
The Derry Education Association is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior who wishes to continue his/her education.
Derry Friendship Center Award & Scholarship ($2,000)
The Derry Friendship Center is honored to present a $1,000 award to a Pinkerton Senior who will be pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in addiction counseling or behavioral health. In addition, the recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their post-secondary education.
Derry Garden Club Environmental Careers Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded to a Pinkerton Academy senior planning to attend an accredited college or university. Candidates must be planning to enroll in a course of study related to horticulture, forestry, botany, landscape architecture, natural resources, earth sciences, environmental science, or other related field. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
Derry Medical Center Charitable Foundation Scholarships ($1,000)
Awarded to a senior in the top 25% of their class who will pursue a career in the healing arts, such as medical assistant, emergency response personnel, lab technician, etc.
The Derry Village Rotary - John Moody Memorial Education Award ($3,000)
Pinkerton senior who is from the town of Derry continuing their education at a 4-year college/university, majoring in education, who plans a career in public education as a teacher or school administrator. The successful applicant should have superior academic achievement and be able to articulate a clearly stated goal and commitment to a career in public education, as well as the personal qualities to achieve that goal. Those personal qualities include, but are not limited to: a positive can-do attitude, a love of learning, an even temperament, having high expectations of themselves and others, skills in communication, listening, collaboration, as well as being adaptable, empathetic, and patient.
Derry Village Rotary Club Jason Schenker Memorial Music Award ($3,000)
Given in memory of Jason Schenker '92, to a senior continuing education at a 4-year college or university, majoring in music, and who exhibits outstanding vocal and/or instrumental achievement, and exemplifies a warm concern for others.
Derry Village Rotary Club Student of the Year Award- CTE ($3,000)
Given by the Derry Village Rotary Club to a senior who has been recognized as an outstanding student enrolled in a Pinkerton CTE program.
DMCC Foundation's Julie Vander Mark Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Julie Vander Mark, a loved, vibrant, and young member of Derry Medical Center staff who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Awarded to a graduating senior in the top 25% of their class who will pursue a career in the healing arts. To include any medically-related profession such as physician assistant, nursing, physician, medical assistant, etc. It would also include emergency response personnel such as law enforcement, fire department, and paramedics.
Evans Memorial Scholarship ($200)
Given in memory of Paul B. Evans '17, and Marion Gilson Evans '13, to a student continuing education to pursue a teaching career. Criteria: 1. Student must be continuing education to pursue a teaching profession; 2. Student must have true financial need; 3. Student should possess leadership qualities, have a good academic record (not necessarily an all A student), and have shown a record of participating in school and community activities.
Evren Jacob Paquette Memorial Award ($1,000)
The Evren Jacob Paquette Memorial Foundation is a tribute to the life and legacy of our son Evren, aimed at supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to community service. Through this award, the Foundation hopes to honor Evren's memory by investing in the future of students who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the world around them. All are welcome to apply, with preference given to “first-generation” college or vocational students.
Frances E. MacDonald Mem Scholarship ($500)
This endowed scholarship, given by Wayne MacDonald, Class of 1972, in memory of his mother, to a student who excels and takes great pride in the knowledge and use of the English language.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Frank S. Adams Memorial Scholarship ($600)
To a Derry senior with plans to attend an accredited college or technical school full-time. Based on financial need, scholastic achievement, and extracurricular activities.
Frederick Manning Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
This endowed scholarship, given in memory of Frederick Manning, a former Trustee, to a graduating senior who has demonstrated volunteer services in their community and plans to pursue a career in business or a related field.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Gamache Hood ($20,000)
Given in memory of Irene Hood Gamache '36, and her brother Joseph B. Hood, to assist graduating seniors with mental or physical disabilities in continuing their education. The scholarship can be given for one or more years. For Special Education students only.
Geskus Scholarship for Art & Photo ($500)
Awarded to a deserving senior intending to continue education in the field of art or photography.
Geskus Scholarship for Yearbook ($500)
Awarded to students who have given of their time and done exceptional work for the Critic.
No application required.
Gregory S. Poggi Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
To be awarded to a Pinkerton senior from Hampstead who will be attending a higher education institution. Preference is given, though not required, to students who: are involved in athletics, will be attending the University of NH, plan to major in business, engineering or education.
Hampstead Educational Foundation Scholarships ($750)
The Hampstead Educational Foundation offers four (4) scholarships to graduating Pinkerton students who reside in Hampstead and exemplifies academic achievement, community service, and interest in extracurricular activities. The scholarships are given in memory of the following:

Hampstead Lions Club Scholarship - CTE ($1,000)
To be awarded to a CTE student from Hampstead.
Hampstead Lions Club Scholarship - Special Education ($1,000)
To be awarded to a Special Education student from Hampstead.
Hampstead Mother's Club ($1,000)
Current Hampstead resident, current senior, have been accepted to and will be attending next fall an accredited college or institution or enrolled in a program of student leading to either a 2 or 4 year degree. Criteria for selection will be based on a balance of academic excellence, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.
Hampstead School Board Scholarship ($1,750)
To 2 seniors - 1 male, 1 female - from Hampstead who have exemplified academic achievement, community service, involvement in school activities. Criteria: 1) Hampstead residents enrolled at Pinkerton Academy; 2) current high school seniors; 3) have been accepted to and will be attending next fall, an accredited college/institution, enrolled in a program of study leading to either a two or four-year degree. 4) Selection to be based on balance of: Academic excellence/community service/extracurricular activities/special circumstances.
Ivah A. Hackler Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Mr. Hackler, long-time Headmaster and Trustee of the Academy. To a senior with at least a B average who exhibits honesty, diligence, scholarship, and financial need.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Jayme A. Lipkin-Moore Scholarship ($1,500)
Given in memory of Jayme Lipkin-Moore '02, to assist a senior with an interest in journalism or communications. Criteria: Graduating Pinkerton Senior continuing his/her education at a 4-year college, who has an interest in journalism or communications. The successful applicant is a passionate learner and keen observer with outstanding writing and communication skills; who possesses compassion, and intends to pursue a career which promotes and educates others on humanity and human rights.
Jen's "Just Be You" Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Jennifer Janiak, Class of 2011, to assist a senior who has displayed his or her passion and dedication to literature, journalism, reading, writing, and sharing that enthusiasm with others.
Jeremy Dunn Memorial Award ($500)
Given to a Pinkerton student who has displayed a passion for the social sciences and an ability to productively engage in civil discourse during their academic career.
John & James Pinkerton Award ($100)
Given in memory of John & James Pinkerton to the male & female students with the most noteworthy record while students at Pinkerton, including scholarship, character, personality, extra-curricular activities and self-help.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
John S. Langone Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of John S. Langone, to a senior who reflects John’s qualities of being civic and community-minded and people oriented.

Joseph Taleb Memorial Scholarship ($1,250
Given in memory of Joseph Taleb '09, to a senior pursuing a degree in engineering.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Lance Corporal Michael Geary Award ($1,000)
Given in memory of Michael Geary '09, to a senior Pinkerton Academy - JROTC cadet who demonstrates leadership and integrity and who is enrolling in a college ROTC Program or planning to pursue a career in the military.
Leo J. & Eva R. Bousquet Scholarship ($5,000)
Criteria include demonstrated school spirit, exemplary service to the school, proven leadership, and extracurricular participation.
Lillian Ratay Mulrennan Scholarship ($400)
Given in honor of Lillian Ratay Mulrennan to a graduating senior who resides in Derry and is entering a four-year nursing program.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Lt. Col. Howie Steadman Junior ROTC Award ($250)
Given to an outstanding Pinkerton Academy - JROTC cadet who is furthering his or her education with college ROTC or at a military service academy.
Margaret Hanlon Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Margaret “Margie” Hanlon of Hampstead who dedicated her entire professional career to caring for those in need. Criteria: 1) must be entering an accredited college, university or technical school to study within a medical-related field. To be based on a student's academic record, class standing, school & community activities, and character.
Mary Lord and William Dean Wilder Music Award for Instrumental Achievement ($200)
Given to a student showing the greatest proficiency in brass, woodwind, and/or percussion instruments.
Mary Lord and William Dean Wilder Music Award for Vocal Achievement ($200)
Given to a student showing the greatest proficiency in brass, woodwind, and/or percussion instruments.
Matthew Bertolino Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Given in memory of Matthew Bertolino, who was a Marine killed in action in Afghanistan in 2006, to a senior pursuing a 4-yr degree in law enforcement, given in memory of Matthew Bertolino.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Michael Terrile Legacy in Art Education Scholarship ($500)
This scholarship is established in memory of Michael Terrile "Mr. T", the beloved art teacher of 34 years (1991 - 2025) at the Hampstead Central School. A teacher, role model, and friend who inspired generations of students to pursue their love of creating. A person whose gentle, fun-loving spirit was evident in his everyday interactions with both students and colleagues. He often reminded his students of their worth and kindness, saying, "You have a lot of love in your heart, and I love that about you", words that perfectly reflect the encouragement and warmth he shared throughout his career.
Molly Reid Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Continuing Education Award ($500)
The Molly Reid Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution offers this award to a deserving PA senior who is continuing his/her education at an accredited post-secondary level with plans to pursue studies in one of the broad areas of education, the social sciences or health care, and who shows academic achievement, community service, and involvement in school activities.
Nathan Folley Air Force Junior ROTC (AFPinkerton Academy - JROTC) Memorial Scholarship ($750)
Given in memory of Nathan Folley, Air Force Junior ROTC, to a worthy graduating cadet interested in joining the military either through enlisting or going to college ROTC or a Service Academy.
Oliver Tage Frid Memorial Scholarship ($800)
In memory of Oliver Frid, Art Instructor, who cared about his students and their creative pursuits. Given to a Pinkerton Academy senior who intends to continue education in the field of art or photography.
Paula M. Hogan Scholarship ($2,000)
Paula M. Hogan gave her time and energy to help elevate members of her community to live healthier, more joyous and harmonious lives. She used her numerous talents to encourage positive change and inspired others to cultivate their own talents as a way of brightening the world even beyond her reach. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing a 2 or 4 year college degree and demonstrates similar qualities and aspirations.
Pinkerton Academy Citizenship Award ($500)
Recognizes a student who consistently exhibits good civic behavior in our school and the community.
Pinkerton Academy Faculty & Staff Scholarship (Amount Varies)
Provided by Pinkerton Faculty & Staff, graduating seniors who apply may be considered for one of three scholarships.
Pinkerton Academy Faculty & Staff Scholarship is based on academics, service to school/community, and need.
Pinkerton Academy HOSA Sarah Coberth Memorial Scholarship ($500)
This scholarship is given to a PA HOSA member who will be attending college to pursue a career in the medical field.
Pinkerton Academy NHS College Textbook Award ($500)
Graduating senior who made contributions to Pinkerton Academy and the community. Demonstrated potential for leadership and success at the post-secondary level.
Pinkerton Academy Senior Class Scholarship ($1,000)
The PA Senior Class Scholarship will be awarded to either one or two seniors, per the decision of the senior class advisor(s). The scholarship winner(s) will be determined based on the following criteria: 1) Selfless service to the class 2) Dedication to class activities, including community service events and the various committees that are formed throughout the four years 3) Participation in class fundraising events 4) Demonstration of and willingness to promote overall school spirit 5) Proven leadership and initiative in matters concerning the class.
Richard A. and Ann G. West Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)
This is a scholarship offered to a Pinkerton Academy senior to aid in their pursuit of further education. The applicant should demonstrate the following: GPA of B or better; a track record of meaningful engagement within Pinkerton or the larger community (one meaningful role or contribution is preferable to a long list of “attendee” roles); shows signs of growth and building toward a future, even against the odds; Scholarship can be used for college or vocational training, in keeping with Pinkerton’s broad mandate.
Riley Family Memorial Scholarship ($2,500)
Given in memory of Carol Riley '83 and Sean Riley '86 to a senior going on to school.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Rodney R. Lafond, Jr. Memorial Scholarship ($250)
Applicants must be a senior Pinkerton Academy and have successfully completed the Automotive Technologies program. Student will be attending a two or four year college or pursuing a certification program within the field of Automotive Technologies.
Roy Feinauer Derry Rotary Club Scholarship ($3,500)
For a graduating Pinkerton Academy senior -- our scholarship focuses on academic achievement and a well-balanced mix of extracurricular activities. Include work, community service, honors/awards
Samantha C. Smith Human Services, Hospitality & Business Scholarship ($4,000)
Given by Kim and Dan Smith in memory of their daughter, Samantha C. Smith, to assist a Pinkerton Academy graduating Senior who will continue their education in one of the following areas after graduation:

Auto TechnologySarah Coberth Memorial Scholarship United Professional Firefighters of Derry Local 4392 ($1,000)
Established in 1993, it is awarded to deserving Pinkerton graduates furthering their education in the fire department or EMS field. The scholarship will be distributed over two years at $500 each year.
Scott True Memorial Scholarship ($500)
Given by the True Family in memory of Scott True, to assist Pinkerton Academy graduating seniors who demonstrates team work and community service.
Sgt. Thomas C. Kelly Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Established in 1993 by the Derry Police Benevolent Association, in memory of Sgt. Kelly, who died in the line of duty in 1989. Awarded to a graduating senior in the pursuit of higher education. Criteria includes: 1) A Derry Police Benevolent Association child pursuing a law enforcement degree. 2) A Derry Police Benevolent Association child pursuing a general degree. 3) A Derry Resident and graduating senior pursuing a law enforcement degree. 4) A Derry Resident and graduating senior pursuing a general degree.
Southern NH Internal Medicine's Edward L. Yourtee Memorial Health Professions Scholarship ($1,000)
Dr. Edward L. Yourtee was a highly respected physician and a beloved member of the community. In honor of his legacy, this scholarship has been established to support local students pursuing careers in healthcare, continuing his commitment to both the profession and the community he served so deeply.
Spofford Health Science Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded to graduates who will pursue a post-secondary degree in the healthcare field.
Suzanne Longshore-Nigro Scholarship ($800)
Given in memory of Suzanne Longshore-Nigro, to a student interested in pursuing a career in nursing.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
Sylvia Clark Memorial Award ($200)
Awarded to a senior, intending to become a teacher, who shows exceptional promise in leadership, integrity of character, and dedication to learning.
Must be nominated by Pinkerton Academy faculty or staff to apply.
The Coach Van Award ($1,000)
Given in memory of Coach Van Nostrand, Pinkerton Academy’s career counselor and long-time coach. This is awarded directly to the recipient after completion of first semester for reimbursement of books, computers, etc., for college.
The Ezra Alvarez Memorial Scholarship ($750)
Given by the Community Alliance for Teen Safety (CATS) in memory of Ezra Alvarez to assist a Pinkerton Academy graduating Senior who will continue their education in a mental health field following graduation. It is the intent of this scholarship to provide financial support and encouragement to assist a student as he or she endeavors through their own work to make a positive difference in the lives of others, especially through the field of mental health and suicide prevention.
The GySgt Doug "Gunny" Crooker Trade School Award ($1,000)
This award is given to a graduating senior from the Pinkerton Academy in memory of GySgt Doug "Gunny" Crooker by the VFW Post 1617and American Legion, Post 9.
The Home for the Holidays Tommy Datillo '05 Memorial Award (Amount Varies)
This award is given in loving memory of Tommy “TD” Dattilo (PA Class of 2005). Being home for the holidays meant the world to TD, and in his spirit, this scholarship ensures that a first-year student can return home to their loved ones for the holidays, free from financial worry.
The Linda Greenwood Memorial Award ($1,000)
Initiated by Roger Cummings, PA ‘65, this award was established to honor Linda Greenwood, PA ‘65 recognizing her unwavering commitment to education and her 23 years of inspiring excellence in mathematics at Pinkerton Academy.
Thomas R. Bengston Memorial Scholarship ($500)
In memory of Thomas R. Bengston, to provide financial support and encouragement to a graduating senior of Pinkerton Academy who is a member of HOSA and is seeking a post-secondary education in the medical field.
Windham Lions Jeffrey P. Shaw Memorial Engineering Scholarship ($2,000)
Given in memory of Jeffrey P. Shaw '88, to a senior who intends to pursue a career in engineering and the willingness to share the knowledge gained with others. This scholarship is an effort to promote the passion for sciences that Jeff embodied.
Wyatt Marsh JROTC Memorial Scholarship ($700)
Given in memory of Wyatt Marsh to a graduating JROTC senior entering a 2 or 4 year educational institution.
World Language Honor Society Award (Amount Varies)
WLHS will invite students to apply to the award. WLHS will select the winner and announce at Senior Awards Ceremony.
