Weekly Update 11/22/24
November 22nd, 2024
Hello Pinkerton Community,
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, let us take a moment to acknowledge the countless blessings in our lives. May this holiday season be filled with gratitude, joy, and a renewed sense of appreciation for the people and experiences that enrich our lives. The true spirit of the holiday season lies in acts of kindness and compassion. By reaching out to those in need, we can bring warmth and hope to their lives. Let us embrace this opportunity to make a difference and foster a stronger, more caring community.
I want to express how thankful I am for the dedicated and hardworking administrative team, faculty and staff who contribute to creating our enriching learning environment for our students. Your commitment to education, making this campus look wonderful and daily operations is commendable. To our students, I express my gratitude for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and the vibrant energy you bring to our school every day.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving and move into the holiday season, let us be mindful of the importance of kindness, empathy, and gratitude. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Break and hopefully a few days of relaxation.
Weekly Highlights:
Pinkerton Players Present Eurydice: The Pinkerton Players will present Eurydice on December 6th - 8th. Get your tickets here!
Weather Conditions and Roads: It’s that time of year! We urge everyone coming to campus to be aware of potential icy conditions. Our Buildings & Grounds crew does an amazing job, but there are places where we cannot use salt. Please take care to keep to cleared paths and wear appropriate footwear for the weather conditions. Thank you!
Thanksgiving Break: This break will be recognized from November 27 - 29, 2024. Have a nice break and time away.
Course Showcase for Sophomores: Sophomores and families, check your email for information about the Course Showcase, an opportunity for sophomores to preview possible electives for next year and beyond. It will be running during Flex December 10th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th. Students are encouraged to sign up and participate as many days as they would like.
Hour of Code Event: Is Computer Science something that comes to mind as fun? Let's give it a try! Join your classmates and teachers by participating in the Inaugural HOUR OF CODE event here at Pinkerton Academy during the week of Dec 2 - 6. Let’s put our school on the map and show that we are a part of this global movement! Join us online during FLEX the first week of December. You can explore the basics with exciting, hands-on activities. It’s a chance to see how programming powers the tech that shapes our world.
