Weekly Update 2/2/2024
February 2nd, 2024
Pinkerton Families and Friends,
First and foremost, I want to echo Dr. Powers' remarks about the loss of Fine Arts teacher Mr. Oliver Frid and extend my condolences to his family and those close to him. He will be deeply missed.
This week, I would like to highlight the contributions of Ms. Vanessa Tracey and Mr. Colin Walker, our Associate Deans of Students for the Junior Class at Pinkerton Academy. Both bring great enthusiasm and knowledge to their roles and have a significant history at Pinkerton
Ms. Tracey graduated from Londonderry High School, the number 1 rival of Pinkerton Academy. Fortunately for her and for our community, she chose to align herself with Pinkerton, where she has dedicated nine years to the faculty and administration. Initially, she spent six years as a full-time teacher of Government and Cultural Geography in the Social Studies Department. Following that, she served a year as a part-time teacher and part-time Associate Dean of Students before transitioning to a full-time role. Ms. Tracey played a key role in establishing the Garfield Club and served as an advisor to the Just Like Us Program. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family and is an enthusiastic Swiftie.
Her partner in crime, Mr. Colin Walker, is a proud graduate of Pinkerton Academy's Class of 1988. With 24 years of experience in education, Mr. Walker began his Pinkerton career as a volleyball coach before joining Pinkerton as an English teacher, where he dedicated three years to the department. For the past five years, he has served as one of our Associate Deans of Students. Mr. Walker actively contributed as an advisor for the Transfer Student Mentor Group and participated in various school-based committees throughout his tenure at Pinkerton. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, aged 10 to 26, and maintains his passion for coaching volleyball and youth athletics.
We are so lucky to have Ms. Tracey and Mr. Walker as part of our team.
